Swiss Historic Hotels

Authentic, historic hotels and restaurants that emphasise hospitality and service quality. Since 2004, the Swiss Historic Hotels label has united precisely such establishments into a constantly growing network - and in this way enables guests to take an unforgettable journey back in time through all regions of Switzerland. There are also four hotels in the Jungfrau Region that have been awarded this label.

#1 Hotel Regina, Mürren

The over 100-year-old traditional house is located in the centre of the village of Mürren - 1650 m above sea level, far away from the hustle and bustle. The magnificent dining room, the sun terrace and the spacious veranda offer breathtaking views of the mountain panorama. The house has retained its charm over the years.

#2 Hotel Bellevue des Alpes, Kleine Scheidegg

One of the last grand hotels of the 19th century. This special hotel is located on Kleine Scheidegg, high above Grindelwald and Wengen and surrounded by alpine beauty. As the centre of the skiing and hiking region, this place is also the direct starting point to the Jungfraujoch. Even today, the hotel is still traditionally run as a family business.

Here you will find yourself directly beneath the infamous north face of the Eiger - some scenes from the 2008 film "Nordwand", the dramatic first ascent attempt, were filmed at the Bellevue des Alpes.

#3 Hotel Falken, Wengen

The Hotel Falken in Wengen was built in 1895, on an elevated hillside with a fantastic view of the Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Many original details - inside and out - have been preserved. It is the only intact hotel from the early days of tourism in the village.

#4 Grimsel Hospiz, Haslital

From a hostel for poor hikers and a former miners' residence, a very tasteful hotel for aesthetes and nature lovers has been created on the Grimsel Pass. Especially in winter, the alpine hotel becomes a very special oasis of peace - the historic house is enthroned deep in the snow in the middle of an unspoilt landscape.
