Of course, the Jungfrau Region is also represented in the Gault Millau gourmet guide. Five restaurants have 15 or more points. One of them also has a Michelin star.

Boutique Hotel and Restaurant Glacier, Grindelwald - 16 Gault-Millau points

"Grindelwald is turning into a gourmet village and Paul Cabayé, the new chef at the Glacier, is number 1 here: 16 points, 'Discovery of the Year'". That's what it says on GaultMillau.ch. And it continues: "The barely cooked pike-perch on fennel, with fennel milk foam and crayfish beurre-blanc as well as a fried crayfish, is a highlight in a menu that is not exactly lacking in highlights." Are you hungry yet?

Hotel Belvedere / Restaurant 1910 Gourmet by Hausers, Grindelwald - 15 Gault Millau points, 1 Michelin star

GautMillau.ch writes: "Grindelwald has rediscovered fine dining. The Hauser family in the traditional Hotel Belvedere does not want to stand on the sidelines, and the new generation certainly doesn't: '1910 Gourmet by Hausers' is the name of the flagship restaurant. They are not intimidated - neither by the strong competition in the village nor by abrupt changes of chef. Dávid Imre Rózsa is now at the helm, and he clearly loves vegetables: his passion is the vegetarian menu. Vegetable courses are also listed in the classic menu, and the intermediate courses (dandelion ice cream, advertised as a 'delicacy from the kitchen') or desserts (creamy gooseberry sorbet on sponge cake crumbles) also have a veggie touch."

Hotel Fiescherblick, Grindelwald - 15 Gault-Millau points

"With the 'Fiescherblick', the hoteliers' sons Matthias and Lars Michel are bringing a new style to Grindelwald: Bernese Oberland geranium coziness meets Scandinavian hygge style. With Aurélien Mettler, they have also hired a 27-year-old talent who has already reached a pleasingly high level after just a short time. Mettler combines French cuisine with Nordic ideas and fits perfectly into the young concept," says GaultMillau.ch, praising the third Grindelwald hotel with a restaurant with 15 or more Gault Millau points.

Hotel and Nature Resort Handeck, Guttannen - 15 Gault-Millau points

The Haslital also has two kitchens with 15 Gault Millau points. The restaurant guide writes: "The rugged Grimsel world is not just a hotspot for bikers and mountain hikers. Foodies will also be happy here, as Roman Crkon has been working in the 'Handeck Naturresort' in the middle of the high alpine region for ten years. The dedicated chef cultivates a high-quality, extraordinarily elaborate natural cuisine made from regional products - the herbs, cheese and Alpsäuli even come from his own farm."

Hotel Victoria, Meiringen - 15 Gault-Millau points

Last but not least, the Hotel Victoria in the middle of Meiringen. "Here, patron and chef Simon Anderegg has stuck to his elaborate concept for many years. In the elegant restaurant with its beautiful terrace, a comprehensive menu is still on offer, which the chef is constantly updating with dishes often inspired by the Far East," says the GautMillau restaurant guide, praising the hotel's cuisine.
