Swishing down the slope against the backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks is simply sublime.
There are many paths that lead to this skiing area, which is the largest in the Jungfrau Region and connects the Kleine Scheidegg mountain pass and Männlichen mountain. Now, thanks to the new V-Cableway with bottom station in Grund, visitors can get to the slopes even faster and more comfortably. In the Grindelwald-Wengen skiing area, you can even race down the world-famous Lauberhorn downhill run. No joke. Well, maybe it'd be better to take it a bit easier on the way down. That thing's pretty steep!
Ski area
Wengen-Grindelwald
The Grindelwald-Wengen skiing area can be reached from the other side as well via the Wengen-Männlichen aerial cableway – a 10-minute ride. And the train from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg takes just 25 minutes – then you’re there on your skis or snowboard in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, gazing at one of the most spectacular panoramas in the Alps. The slopes lead back to the village on both the Grindelwald and Wengen sides. By the way: in Wengen, the only people you’ll find speeding are the skiers. Poised at an elevation of 1,274 m above sea level, the village is car-free.
EQUIPMENT HIRE
The perfect equipment
An incredible range of activities is available to us in the Jungfrau Region. Fortunately, we don’t need our own equipment for every single bit of fun. Whatever we don’t happen to have can be rented in select shops in the Jungfrau Region.
Snow sports schools
Lessons in the snow
“The beginner makes more progress in three days than his father did in three weeks.”
This sentence appears on an advertisement in England after the snow sports schools in the Jungfrau Region were formed. But skiing isn’t all there is to learn, we can also explore a variety of winter activities on guided tours.
