The best photo spots around Wengen

Die Wengernalpbahn unterwegs von Lauterbrunnen nach Wengen. Im Hintergrund das in Herbstfarben gehüllte Lauterbrunnental mit dem Staubbachfall.

Yes, dear friends of the good picture...

...your friends will be green with envy and your like and follower counter will skyrocket! The panorama around Wengen is comparable to the Grand Canyon, only much richer in contrast. The view extends into the lush green Lauterbrunnen Valley at 800 metres above sea level. Just 4.5 kilometres further on, the snow- and glacier-covered Jungfrau can be seen at 4,158 metres above sea level. Definitely one of the most impressive views in the world and one of the world's favourite photo subjects.

...long story short. See for yourself:

Leiterhorn - 1'526m.a.s.l. - 60 minutes on foot

Barbecue areas at the viewpoint. View over the entire Lauterbrunnen valley with the peaks of the Eiger and Mönch and the Jungfrau in all its splendour. At the end point, views over the Lütschental valley as far as Interlaken. We recommend combining this hike with the Hunneflue viewpoint.

Hunneflue - 1'363m.a.s.l. - 35 minutes on foot

On the way to Hunneflue, the best view over the Lauterbrunnen Valley with the Jungfrau. At the end point, views over the Lütschental, Isenfluh and Interlaken. The trail is fairly flat and very easy to walk. Combination with the Leiterhorn is recommended.

Mönchblick - 1'186m.a.s.l. - 35 minutes on foot

No, there isn't a monk here, but as the name suggests, you can see the top of the monk's mountain. The best point to look directly into the Lauterbrunnen valley.

Staubbachbench - 1,268m.a.s.l. - 30 minutes on foot

Is that where there are benches and you can see the Staubbach Falls? That's right! The viewpoint is right next to the finish area of the world-famous Lauberhorn downhill run. There are plenty of benches here and the view is directly towards the Staubbach - 297 metres of free-falling mountain water. Ibex can often be seen here in spring.

Stäublisegg - circular route 30 minutes

If you prefer not to leave the village, you've come to the right place! This path leads under the village and the view is still fantastic. Together with the chalets and the view, you'll conjure up beautiful pictures on your camera!

Mendelssohn memorial - 20 minutes on foot

He was here once - the famous composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. What many did not know: Mendelssohn was also a gifted draughtsman. On 21 August 1842, Mendelssohn was in this place and drew a sketch of the Virgin Mary. It is considered to be the oldest historical depiction of the village of Wengen.

Steinewaldweg - 1,410 metres above sea level - 90 minutes round trip

As the name suggests, it goes through the forest along a forest nature trail. At the top of "in Gassen" you can look out over the lush green meadows with the snow-covered mountains.

Lauterbrunnen - 50 minutes on foot

There are various paths leading to Lauterbrunnen. Of course, you can also take the train, but we can also recommend this hiking trail. If you're in a hurry, you'll end up with shaky knees, as the path leads down almost 500 metres in altitude. In the middle is probably the best photo point together with Lauterbrunnen, the train and the Staubbach Falls.
