Schynige Platte
Top of Swiss Tradition at 2,076 metres above sea level.
The cogwheel railway climbs 1,420 metres over the 7.255-kilometre journey from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte. Along the way, the train offers regular views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
At the top, visitors are rewarded with views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The railway itself is also part of the experience: the line has been operated electrically since 1914, and some of the carriages and locomotives originally came from the Wengernalp Railway.
Another highlight is the Schynige Platte Skywalk. The viewing platform offers wide views of the surrounding peaks and lakes.
Allow around 4 hours for a visit to Schynige Platte.
