Let yourself be enchanted by the idyllic forest landscape of Mürren. The route begins at the BLM station and leads in the direction of the village centre. Before the sports centre, the trail branches off to the right and climbs through the Ägerte district and the lower Panorama Trail up to the Allmendhubel funicular railway. A short but steep ascent takes you to the upper Panorama Trail, where you follow the snow-covered trail to the Allmiboden area. After carefully crossing the ski slope, you ascend along the edge of the forest to the Chänelegg. The breathtaking view of no less than eight north faces of the Bernese Alps and the world-famous trio make this tour an unforgettable experience. The way back via Mittelberg takes you through an enchanting winter landscape and a mystical forest down to Mürren.

Step by Step Directions

Mürren - Chänelegg - Mittelberg - Mürren

Getting There

Public transport

Thanks to its central location in Europe, Switzerland is served by international trains from over 12 countries. Within Switzerland, intercity trains run from Basel directly to the Jungfrau Region. Bikers from Zurich and Geneva change trains in Bern. The trains run every half hour. Timetables and train tickets for arrival and departure are available in the SBB Shop (https://www.sbb.ch/).

From Grütschalp, the BLM travels by train via Winteregg to Mürren.

Alternatively, the Stechelberg - Gimmelwald - Mürren aerial cableway is available.

Getting there

By car from Basel/Zurich/Geneva via Bern or Lucerne/Brünigpass. This is open in summer and winter. Coming from the south, the journey takes you over the Grimsel or Susten Pass (only in summer) or Simplon Pass and then the Lötschberg car transporter to the region.

Parking

Lauterbrunnen car park or the uncovered car park by the Schilthorn cable car in Stechelberg.
