In this alpine hut, local alpine dairymen have milked their cows for decades and produced the spicy alpine cheese. Due to the changing times the hut was no longer used. In the summer of 2011 Karin & Ueli Grossmann-Schläppi converted the building, which dates back to 1858, with great respect into the Balis Alpine Restaurant. The old wood of the hut was processed and reinstalled. Many details could be preserved or used for other purposes. The alpine hut has awakened again!
In the Alprestaurant Balis the mountain friendship is the center of attention - be welcome as guest and friend. In addition the down-to-earth food - genuine, simple and hearty - cooked with joy and care.
The Alprestaurant Balis is located below Käserstatt in the ski and hiking area Meiringen-Hasliberg.
