In 1993, the Haslital mountain guide association built this via ferrata. One that is quite something. With a length of around 600 metres, it is also one of the longest and most spectacular via ferratas in Switzerland. It runs right through the Gadmerfluh, a gallery of rock faces. The starting point for the via ferrata is the Tälli Restaurant and Berghaus, which is easy to reach with the Tälli cable car. The valley station is directly on the Sustenpass road. 78 metres of ladders, 550 concreted-in pins and lots of fixed ropes guarantee us a safe ascent of the route, which leads over rock steps, grassy ledges and narrow bands. The descent is via the back of the Gadmerfluh and leads back to Berghaus Tälli via Sätteli - or down to Engstlenalp. The via ferrata is accessible from mid-June to mid-October.

Compulsory equipment: climbing harness, via ferrata set, climbing helmet, latching sling (webbing sling and screw carabiner), climbing rucksack and sturdy shoes.
Optional equipment: via ferrata gloves.
Safety Guidelines
To walk the via ferrata, you need to be in good physical condition, sure-footed and free from vertigo, have suitable equipment and know how to behave on the mountain. If you are inexperienced, it is advisable to do the via ferrata with a mountain guide. We only go to the wall in good weather - and leave immediately if the weather changes or there is a risk of thunderstorms. A carabiner always remains on the safety rope.
The ascent is at your own risk. Jungfrau Region Tourism declines all liability.

Getting There
Public transport
Thanks to its central location in Europe, Switzerland is served by international trains from over 12 countries. Within Switzerland, we take Intercity trains from Basel and Lucerne directly to Interlaken. Coming from Zurich, we have to change trains in Bern. The trains run every half hour. From Interlaken Ost we take the train to Meiringen - and then on to Innertkirchen Grimseltor. Now it's just under 20 minutes by post bus to Gadmen, the Tällibahn valley station.
Getting there
From Basel and Geneva we travel via Bern to Interlaken and on to Meiringen. From Zurich, the fastest route is via Lucerne and the Brünig Pass to Meiringen. From here we head east on the main roads 6 and 11 to Gadmen. Of course, we can also reach the Jungfrau Region from the south via the Grimsel or Susten Pass (only in summer) or the Simplon Pass (with subsequent car transport through the Lötschberg Tunnel).
