Historisches Alpinhotel Grimsel Hospiz
The Grimsel Hospiz stands on the „Nollen“ like a castle reigning above the fjord-like storage lake below. This hotel has written Swiss history. It was the first guesthouse in Switzerland to be officially documented, way back in 1142 and in 1932 the newly constructed hotel was a sensation as being the first electrically heated hotel in Europe. Such fame carries a certain amount of responsibility: almost 80 years later, the hotel once again opened its doors to present a completely renovated hotel. Behind the trusted walls of granite blocks and red shutters awaits an interior, which leaves nothing to be desired.
The 28 rooms have been tastefully decorated with a thirties feel about them. The historic Arven and Turm salons offer the perfect surrounds for a great celebration or a productive seminar. The hotel also has lots to offer on the culinary front - it goes without saying that natural, regional specialities are the order of the day. A real treasure lies hidden in the famous wine cellar: over 300 delicious wines are stored here.
