30th Jungfrau Marathon

The number of annual entries proves the popular appeal of the Jungfrau Marathon, awarded the title of «The World's Most Beautiful Marathon» by the American magazine «The Ultimate Guide to International Marathons». The attraction of the race is immense. Participants are in company of 4000 like-minded runners from over 50 countries and from all five continents. The challenge begins on the Höheweg, Interlaken's famous boulevard and leads up the lovely Lauterbrunnen Valley via Wengen and the Eiger Glacier to the finish on Kleine Scheidegg.
Success is based on first class organization, involving over one thousand volunteers, a marvellous marathon ambience in every village along the route and an exhilarating sporting experience in an awe-inspiring Alpine world. The organization committees's main focus of attention after the smooth staging of the race is on providing a fun-filled accompanying programme. Event organizers aim at creating a memorable marathon atmosphere, from races for young talent and pasta parties to arranging musical entertainment in the villages.
